Empowerment for accident prevention

Empowerment for accident prevention

About us

Combining passions for technology and the railway industry, Harpia Harpyja emerged to ensure safety in railway operations through the development of customized and innovative solutions capable of reducing the incidence of accidents at the railways.

The implementation of solutions that aim to reduce the number of railway accidents is necessary both from the point of reducing railway operating costs, as well as from sustainability and social responsibility, working to protect the environment and the communities in which the railway operates.

Our team includes railway specialists with extensive experience in national and international railway operations, developers of hardware and software for control systems, computer vision and artificial intelligence, integrating the strength and tradition of the railway with the flexibility of the most modern in technology.

Startups from SC, PR and MG are finalists in the innovation notice for railway safety projects

Drones that alert machinists, visual stimuli to drivers and the use of artificial intelligence to prevent being run over. These were the innovative solutions for railway safety projects that reached the final stretch of Fuse – Edital Rumo de Aceleração, a pioneering program launched earlier this year by the largest railway concessionaire in Brazil, Rumo, in partnership with Santa Catarina-based Hards.

“There were more than 180 applications, including international ones, and more than 60 Rumo employees were directly involved in the program so that we could reach the final stage with initiatives capable of contributing to the improvement of the sector as a whole through open innovation”, says Roberto Rubio Potzmann, Director of Technology at Rumo. Of the 10 teams participating in the idealization phase, four reached the final acceleration stage.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
